When to Schedule Heating Repairs

Man holding hands near mouth standing in front of thermostatSure, things don’t get too frigid in this part of the country. Certainly not in the way that they can in Vermont or Wisconsin, for instance. If you think that this means that you don’t need to have a great heater installed in your home, though, you really need to think again. It gets plenty cold enough around here to justify the use of our heaters during the chillier time of the year. You need to know that yours is going to be ready to step up to the plate when its time to shine arrives.

Of course, while investing in a great heater and having it regularly tuned up is a good way to keep that system functioning as reliably as possible, there is no heater that will ever be 100% dependable. At some point, you are going to need to have your heater repaired. When that time comes, you can count on us for outstanding heating repair in Atlanta.

Signs That Your Heater Is in Trouble

If and when you do run into heater problems, you really want to have those problems resolved as promptly as possible. Doing so not only helps to limit any period of discomfort in your home, but it also helps to avoid serious breakdowns and more costly repairs. Here are a few warning signs that you may need heating repairs in the near future.

  • Increased operating costs. Obviously, you are going to be paying more to run your heater the more that you run your heater. However, you also probably have a pretty good idea of what constitutes a typical utility bill in your home. If you notice that the costs associated with running your heater are much higher than usual, then give us a call. That inefficiency may be due to unaddressed repair needs.
  • Decreased heating output. The whole point of using a whole-house heating system is to heat your whole house effectively with just that one system. If your heater used to heat your home just fine but is now struggling to do so, or if you feel cool air coming from any vents in your home, don’t jack up the thermostat or just ignore the problem. Contact us to schedule any heating repairs that may be necessary.
  • Strange sounds/odors. With the exception of, perhaps, all heaters are going to make operational sounds of some sort. As the homeowner, you know better than anyone what type of sounds are audible to you when running your heater, as well as how loud they typically are. If your system is making strange new sounds, or if it is just much louder than is usual, then you could be dealing with a serious problem. If you ever smell burning or gas when running your heater, contact us (or your utility in the case of gas) immediately.

Problems with your heater are not just inconveniences. They could actually put your safety at risk. Leave your heating repairs to us.
